We slept in until 6:00! Yes, that is sleeping in when you have a 20 mile day ahead.
We left the hut, what shelters are called here in the park, around 7:00.
It was a chilly morning so we were bundled up. We had some climbs today and a stretch of 10 miles with no water. We were able to find enough water for the dogs.
It's true what people say, the trails in this park are great! Here's a sample of some of our trail today!
We had some great views today and we are noticing that the leaves are actually coming out.
The trail parallels the highway called Skyline Drive.
We are staying at the Hightop Hut. It was a nice day today!

Mike and Lynn, we continue to follow your progress, and look for your updates each night. We especially thought of you last week as we trudged a scant 1/2 mile into the wind at 20 degrees with 20 knots of wind during a 10 inch snowstorm. You are intrepid explorers now nearly 900 miles into your adventure. We are amazed at your steady progress and 20+ mile days. Today it is snowing again in denver, and hard to believe the cherry blossoms have been out in full glory for about a month now to the east of us both. We are glad to know the dogs are faring well. Would love to see a photo of a "hut" if that is possible. I'm having a hard time picturing it.
