Day 22

We had rain in the night but by 5:00 it was slacking off. We were on the trail at 6:30. We had lots of fog so no morning pictures. We enjoyed turkeys gobbling close by and one flew out of the tree when we got too close!
I said goodbye to my hiking friend Alabama this morning at 9:50. He walked into Lee, MA to shower and eat before his bus trip to the Albany airport.

Sometimes the trail is actually a green tunnel.

I passed Upper Goose Pond late in the morning.

I crossed the Massachusetts Turnpike I-90 today. I remember driving on this turnpike with my friend Melanie Charlson on our way to my Holyoke College in 2007.
I'm at the October Mountain Shelter now. When I got here a couple who is section hiking and I rescued a Magnolia Warbler from the top level of the shelter. A yellow bellied sapsucker is working a tree in front of the shelter. It was a beautiful sunny but windy day. 18.7 miles
