Day 11

We left Wayawanda early. Soon we entered New York. My hand is swatting bugs!

Today's hike was very rocky! We would declare it National See a Snake on the AT Day. We saw 7! One milk snake 5 black snakes and one eastern timber rattlesnake.

From this point, Prospect Rock you are supposed to be able to see the skyscrapers of NYC, but it was too hazy.

We hitched into the small town of Greenwood Lake. A really nice woman gave us a ride. She was headed home at lunch to check on her new standard poodle puppy!
We ate Subway sandwiches, drank coke and orange juice. Then Crystal yogi-ed a ride from a young man in the parking lot.

At the top we had to stop for ice cream!

Yum! Now we could hike again ! We went as far as the Wildcat shelter with Phase Two. We hiked on to Fitzgerald Falls. While we were loading up on water a dog grabbed the lid of Shebeast's dinner jar and cracked it, so the owner gave us a ride back into town so Crustal could get a new hat. She ended up with a jar of applesauce. What an adventure!

Here's the view from Cat Rocks!

We hiked on and camped in the woods!

A great day! 14.5 miles
