Day 15

We left the RPH at around 7:00 this morning. We enjoyed a beautifully maintained section and then ran into the trail maintainer who was Ralph, the Ralph that the RPH shelter is named for. He thru hiked in 1971 and again in 1975. What an awesome man. He suggested we side hike to the Mountain Top Deli in Stormville, NY for a fried egg sandwich. What a taste delight!






We saw this amazing oak tree.





We found this guy sitting on the trail! Alabama's solution to protecting himself from bugs is underwear on his head!





We rested a bit at the Morgan Stewart shelter.





We passed Nuclear Lake and saw a Baltimore oriole near here.





Beautiful columbines

We are staying at the Telephone Pioneer Shelter tonight with section hikers Sarah, Field and Stream and Adam, Linus, Zack, Appalachian Roots, Coleman, Better Than Expected, Alabama, Puck, Phase Two, Shebeast, Coleman, Nightcrawler newly named!!
We hiked 16.8 miles. It was another awesome day today.
I'm half way done in number of days.
