We slept in until 6:15 this morning. It rained during the night but we were snug on the second level of the shelter.
We were on the trail at 7:10. It was drizzling and foggy.
We hiked to highway 501 and on a whim walked into the 501 shelter because we had heard so much about it. Just after we arrived it started to pour buckets of rain.
It had been thundering and lightning. It is pouring still so we decided to stay. We will order pizza for dinner tonight as they deliver to this shelter. Bad place to be stranded. :-)
